FROM THE PASTOR

There will be a SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION taken up at all of the Masses this weekend to aid the victims of the recent flooding in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. As some of you know, a storm of great intensity created tremendous damage to the villages and towns in the Dominican Republic and Haiti that were already coping with the effects of weeks of heavy rain and flooding. Virtually every family in the areas that were hit by the storm is in need because dwellings have been swept away and clean water, food, and medical supplies are in short supply. Archbishop Sean has authorized a special collection to be taken up in all of the parishes of the Archdiocese this weekend for the victims of these devastating floods. Because we are one family in faith, we need to offer assistance to our brothers and sisters who have been affected by this natural disaster. The proceeds from this Special Second Collection will be sent directly to the Catholic Relief Services who are already on site and have begun to assist the survivors. I am certain that you will be as generous as your means permit and I know that God will reward your for your compassionate concern for His people.

I want to extend a warm welcome to our new Parochial Vicar, the EVEREND JASON W. WORTHLEY to our parish family. Fr. Worthley was just recently ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Sean and we are delighted to have this wonderful priest in our midst. Fr. Worthley will be the Principal Celebrant of the next Sunday's 11:30 AM Mass and there will be a reception in the downstairs hall so that all who wish may personally greet him. I know that Fr. Worthley will find a true home here at St. Patrick's and we look forward to sharing the pastoral ministry with him. As the Irish are fond of saying, "100,000 WELCOMES."

I also want to invite all parishioners to join us on Sunday, June 27th as we bid farewell to the REVEREND STEPHEN S. DONOHOE. Fr. Donohoe will be leaving St. Patrick's Parish to assume his new duties as the Director of Pastoral Formation at St. John's Seminary in Brighton. I am grateful for the privilege that has been mine to share the pastoral ministry with Fr. Donohoe for the past few years and I am delighted that he has been selected for this important position. Fr. Donohoe's priestly spirituality, keen intellect and practical wisdom make him an ideal candidate for this appointment. I have asked Fr. Donohoe to be the Principal Celebrant of the 11:30 AM Mass which will be followed by a reception for him in the school gym. Please join us as we say thank you to this remarkable gift of God who has so generously served us during these altogether too brief years.

There will be a HEALTH CLINIC in the downstairs hall after the Masses this weekend. The St. Patrick's Parish Nursing Program, under the direction of Lauren Gentile, R.N, will be offering blood pressure tests and other health related processes for those who wish to avail themselves of this free service. I am very grateful to Lauren for her willingness to assume this very important ministry in the parish and I am certain that she will enrich all of us by her expertise and compassion.

STEWARDSHIP

Today's Psalm reminds us that we have been crowned with glory and honor and given rule over the works of God's hands. But we must be good stewards, for the Lord will surely hold us accountable for the use of those gifts!

Can You Give of your Time?

Sometimes stewardship can involve the gift of our time and energy. We have a request from the Natick Service Council for a volunteer to give a ride to Sunday Mass to someone in the Natick Village area. If you feel this is something you are able to do please call Sandy at the Service Council (508) 655-1791. If there were several volunteers they could rotate and it would not be an every week commitment.

Be an active participant in the Family MASS by

2)Offering up your family prayers and
3)Greeting parishioners before the 9:00am Sunday Mass.
