FROM THE PASTOR
This weekend, the Church observes the SOLEMNITY
OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST and this affords us the
opportunity to reflect upon the great gift that the Eucharist
is to all of us. The Real Presence of Christ, under the appearance
of bread and wine, is the Source and Summit of the life of every
Catholic. It is to Christ that we bring all that we have and we
are nourished with His own Body and Blood to become all that we
can be. We are mindful of how precious this gift of Jesus’ Body
and Blood is to us as we make our pilgrim way to His Kingdom and
we pray for an even greater awareness of the Lord’s presence in
our world. Corpus Christi is the feast of Christ’s living, permanent,
sacramental presence among us. And just as He strengthened and
encouraged the first Apostles, so too will He strengthen and encourage
us…if we let Him. We become who we really are and we experience
reality most vividly when we allow Christ to mingle His Body and
Blood with ours. As we are indeed privileged to receive our Lord
under the veil of a sacrament, may we live in union with Him so
as to merit a place at the Table in his Kingdom and gaze upon
Him for eternity.
I want to invite all of you to join us this Monday evening, June
11th at 7:30 PM in the Church as we pray the LIVING ROSARY.
This beautiful prayerful experience is offered for the intention
of PROMOTING THE LIFE OF THE FAMILY. We ask our
Blessed Mother’s powerful intercession with her Divine Son to
strengthen the ties of family and to guide us along the way that
leads to peace and joy. I hope that as many of you as are able
will set aside this time to be a part of this very special moment
of grace. There will be refreshments served in the parish hall
afterwards.
I would like to offer my prayerful congratulations to the young
men and women of our parish who received the SACRAMENT
OF CONFIRMATION last Friday evening. The Most Reverend
Walter Edyvean was the Principal Celebrant and we were certainly
grateful for his gracious manner as we witnessed the out-pouring
of the Holy Spirit upon these candidates. I am so grateful to
the Rev. Thomas S. Rafferty and all those who helped to prepare
these men and women for this moment of grace. We look forward
with great joy and much hope as we await their full and active
participation in the life of our parish family.
Once again, I would like to call your attention to the
ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL that is currently underway in
the Archdiocese of Boston. Our compassionate concern for those
less fortunate than ourselves is demonstrated most effectively
by our generous financial support of this Appeal. In the name
of all who benefit from this Appeal, please accept our prayerful
gratitude and our hope that God will reward you for all that you
do for His people.

Stewardship
“They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover
fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets.”
(Luke 9:17)
The story of the Loaves and Fishes shows us that
when we share what we have - even if it doesn’t seem like that
much - miracles can happen. God blesses the gifts we offer and
makes them wondrous.

Rest in Peace
Let us pray for those who have died, especially
Alice Abbott and Richard Bates
May they and all of our faithful departed rest
in peace.
Monthly Memorial Mass
Each month Saint Patrick Parish celebrates a special
Memorial Mass in memory of those who died the previous month.
We remember in a special way our loved ones whose funerals were
celebrated in our parish as well as those who were buried in Saint
Patrick Cemetery. The next Monthly Memorial Mass will be celebrated
Wednesday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Please join us on Monday, June 11th, at 7:30

Rosary” upstairs in the Church. Each bead of the Rosary
is represented by a parishioner holding a candle as we honor the
Virgin Mary with scripture and song.
Fatima Day
The Xaverian Missionaries will hold their traditional
Fatima Day, on Wednesday, June 13, at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine,
101 Summer Street, Holliston. The main celebrant will be Cardinal
Sean O’Malley, OFM.CAP, Archbishop of Boston. Gathering and sing-along

Prayer Vigil to end Hospital Abortions
A prayer vigil to end abortions at Metrowest Hospital
– Framingham Campus, scheduled for Saturday, June 16 will mark
the fifth anniversary of these events, now held on the third Saturday
each month. A guest speaker from the Reagan Administration will
speak at a special breakfast open to the public following the
vigil.
Participants will gather for 8 a.m. Mass at St. Stephen Church,
221 Concord St., then process to the community hospital while
praying the rosary and singing hymns. At 9:15 they will return
to the parish hall for breakfast and a talk by Faith Whittlesey,
former U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Director of Public Liaison
under President Reagan.
Marriage Amendment
The Marriage Amendment will again be before the Constitutional
Convention of the Massachusetts Legislature, scheduled for Flag
Day, Wednesday, June 14, 2007. We have a duty to pass on a strong
institution of marriage for the good of future generations. Each
of us in the community of faith should exercise our rights as
citizens, and urge our legislators to vote to move the Marriage
Amendment to the 2008 ballot and allow every citizen’s voice to
be heard. Contact your Senator and Representative at 617-722-2000
and ask them to let the people vote. For e-mail addresses go to
www.macathconf.org and
click on “Legislator’s e-mails”.

St. Vincent de Paul Weekly Food Collection
Parishioners are reminded of the ongoing food collection
for the needy members of our community. Donations of non-perishable
food products and non-food items may be left at the left side
of the church vestibule at any service. Items are then distributed
to various food pantries. Some especially needed items at this
time are: canned stews, cereal, coffee, 100% fruit drinks, tomato
products, toothpaste and shampoo.
Your generosity in assisting individuals and families who are
unable to meet some of their basic needs is greatly appreciated!

Prayer for Vocations
O God Almighty, we thank you for calling each of us
into deeper life through Jesus. We thank you for the love we are
called to bear one another and for the power you give us to love
with your Spirit of love. Teach us to respect the many ways your
Spirit is manifested and the many gifts needed to bring Christ’s
life in us to its fullness. Never let us forget that the greatest
among us is the one who serves with joy and humility, using your
gifts for the common good. We ask this in the name of your son
through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Can & Bottle Drive
Thank you to everyone who donated bottles and cans
to help the youth going to the Steubenville East Conference. We
collected over 3000 cans, 300 glass bottles, and 500 plastic bottles.
Safety for All
In an effort to make sure our building is a secure place for
all during the celebration of Mass, parents please accompany
your children when they need to use the rest room. In this
way we will all be assured that our oungsters are safe at all
times.
