FROM THE PASTOR
This weekend the Church observes the SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST and we celebrate with special joy this wonderful mystery of our faith. It is our unshakeable conviction that, at every Eucharist, using the identical words of Christ and faithfully using the elements of unleavened bread and wine, Jesus Christ is truly among us under the appearance of bread and wine. As we assent to this mystery of our faith with our "Amen," we receive His Body and Blood as the Food for our journey through life. Jesus comes to us and makes His home within us, inviting us to become transformed by the awesome Gift of Love. This is not merely a symbolic act or recollection of a past event but rather the re-presentation of Christ's sacrifice on Calvary. He is truly present, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. The reality of our union with Him is best expressed by the lives we lead with our union with each other. As we reverence the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament, we must also reverence His Sacred presence in each other. We are truly temples of God and our lives must reflect that. On the Feast of Corpus Christi, may we pattern our lives on this Act of Love and imitate in our daily lives this great Mystery of Faith that are privileged to celebrate.
I want to express my profound gratitude to all of you for your prayerful best wishes to me on the occasion of the Anniversary of my Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood. I am especially grateful to the many parishioners who helped worked so diligently in preparation for the public celebration last Friday evening. I am overwhelmed with thoughts of appreciation to those who joined me for the Mass of Thanksgiving and to those who provided hospitality to the many priests and visitors to our parish. May the Lord, Who is never outdone in generosity, reward you for your extraordinary kindness.
I am delighted to share the news that MR. MARK BARR has been accepted as a candidate for the Priesthood and will enter St. John's Seminary in September of this year. Mark is a wonderful young man whose prayerful presence and charity is well known in this parish. I am certain that St. John's Seminary will provide Mark an excellent environment in which to discern his vocation and I want to assure him of our continued prayerful support. Mark will join our other parish seminarian, WILLIAM VENTURA, as they journey towards the great privilege of priestly service in the Catholic Church. It is my hope that God will raise up other men and women from this community who will generously give their lives in the service of His people. May God Who has begun this good work in these men, bring it to completion and bless them with His peace and joy.
We will be holding our ST. PATRICK'S ANNUAL SUMMER FAMILY OUTING on Sunday, July 27th at the Glen Ellen Country Club in Millis. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to gather as a family and to enjoy the gift of each other. There are many activities for people of all ages and I hope that you will set aside this day to join us for some fun in the sun. Tickets will be on sale in the Lobby of the Church after all of the Masses this weekend. I urge you to get a ticket so
that you will not be left out of the fun!!

STEWARDSHIP
The Bishops' Stewardship Pastoral asks, "And what do Christians bring to the Eucharistic celebration and join there with Jesus' offering?" The answer: "Their lives as Christian disciples; their personal vocations and the stewardship they have exercised regarding them; their individual contributions to the great work of restoring all things in Christ."
REFLECTIONS ON PRAYER & FASTING
Fasting is an attitude of life marked by joy because it is a stance toward Creator and creation that is dictated by the desires of love. Such an attitude is wholly foreign to anything picayune, though nothing is so small as not to merit its due appreciation and place. It is not at all tied up with little rules and regulations, yet it does not fail to appreciate the human imperative of incarnation and communal order and expression. There is a time, and there needs to be a time, when the Christian community, whether it be the cellular local community or one of the larger components of the whole Christian body, together affirms in a coordinated and significant way (by a sign hat speaks) its adhesion to the rules inherent in fasting. Every community and every household should be aware of this. One of the things sapping Christian life today is the failure to incarnate our values in ways that witness to our membership and allow for a healthy experience of our basic unities.
