Stewardship

Lord God,
You alone are the source of every gift, of the vast array of our universe, and of the mystery of each human life. We praise You and we thank You for Your great power and Your tender, faithful Love.
Everything we are and everything we have is Your gift, and after having created us, You have given us into the keeping of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Fill our hearts with Christ’s truth and our hearts with His love, that in His Spirit we may be bonded together into a community of faith, a parish family, a caring people.
In the Name and Spirit of Jesus, we commit ourselves to be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us, to share our time, our talent and our material gifts as an outward sign of the treasure we hold in Jesus.
Amen.

Rest in Peace

Let us pray for those who have died, especially

Michael Melville and Evelyn Donovan

May he and all of our faithful departed rest in peace.

July 4 Mass Schedule

Daily Mass will be celebrated as usual at 8am on Wednesday, July 4. There will be no Wednesday evening 7:30 Mass on July 4.

Please pray daily for the vocation of marriage

Heavenly Father,
Through the intercession of the Holy Family,
Help us treasure the gift of marriage that
reflects the love of Christ for the Church,
where the self-giving love
of husband and wife
unites them more perfectly and
cooperates in your plan for
new life created in your image.
Help us support men and women
in their vocation of marriage,
especially in difficult times when
they join their sufferings to the Cross.
Help us uphold the institution of marriage
in our society as the place where
love is nurtured and family life begins.
Help us acknowledge that our future
depends on this love and on your
providential care for us. Amen

Nihil Obstat: Reverend Mark O’Connell, J.C.D.
Imprimatur: Seán Cardinal O’Malley, OFM Cap.

Prayer for Independence Day

Dear God,
As we celebrate today with fireworks and festivals,
Help us never to forget the reason for our joy.
Help us remember that our rights to life, liberty
And the pursuit of happiness
Were signed into our heritage
With the willing blood of American patriots.
Most of all, help us remember
That the rights of all people
Are more than words on a document,
And that all people have rights
Because You have given us the dignity of human life.
Grant freedom to all,
And give us the strength to protect the rights of others.
Amen.

Happy 4th of July!

The priests and staff of St. Patrick’s wish everyone a happy Independence Day. May your celebration be joyful and all travel safe.
Remember: As noted elsewhere in this week’s bulletin, there will be no 7:30pm Mass on Wednesday, July 4. We will have Mass Wednesday morning at 8am.

Summer Office Hours

Please note that the parish office is open Monday – Thursday from 9:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 noon during the summer months.

Evening of Prayer
Monday, July 9, 2007

On the second Monday of each month, the Spiritual Development Commission of Saint Patrick Parish sponsors an Evening of Prayer. These prayerful services are open to all and are held upstairs in the Church. The next monthly Evening of Prayer will be held on Monday, July 9th at 7:30 PM. We will pray Evening Prayer and conclude with Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Refreshments will be served downstairs following the service. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Religious Education

Thanks again to the catechists who generously contributed a summer evening last Tuesday to assist us with our curriculum review. Your input and ideas are critical to our ongoing efforts. During the next several weeks, working in concert with catechetical consultants, we hope to produce more detailed and coordinated lesson plans for catechists at all grade levels. Any catechist, aide or interested observer with suggestions is invited to contact me or Lisa Correia in the Religious Education Office.
