FROM THE PASTOR
We are observing a REMINDER WEEKEND for the ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL and are asking all parishioners to make a gift or pledge contribution to this important charity. The Annual Appeal is the primary source of revenue for the over 80 archdiocesan agencies that are responsible for the social, educational, and spiritual works of the Archdiocese of Boston. I am happy to share with you that St. Patrick's Parish has already reached 50% of our target goal of $ 90,000.00 and I am grateful to those of you who have responded so generously. I can't underscore enough the need for all of us to participate in this appeal. I read in the media how distraught people are when the Church is forced to close a parish, school, or social program because of a lack of revenue and I am aware of the negative impact that this has on so many people, especially those who are most in need. The only way that we can address this is to be as generous with our resources as we can possibly be. God has blessed most of us with many remarkable gifts and we have an obligation in justice to share those blessings with those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Please prayerfully consider making a substantial gift to this Appeal so that the Church in Boston can continue to walk together in faith and accomplish the good works that the Lord requires of His disciples. If you would like, you can spread your pledge payments over a period of months to make your contribution less burdensome for you. Pledge cards are available in the back of the Church or you can call the Rectory. May God, Who is never outdone in generosity, reward you for your compassionate concern for His family.
As we celebrate INDEPENDENCE DAY, I hope that everyone will be able to relax and to enjoy these days of summer. In this busy world of ours, all of us need to take time out of our hectic schedules and to regroup by appreciating the beauty of nature that has been provided to us by a gracious God. The independence that our country observes has been purchased for us by our ancestors but true independence has come to us through Christ. As the sheep of His flock, we are ever mindful that our true value is infinite because of His immense sacrificial love displayed for the entire world on the Cross of Calvary. While I encourage all to enjoy these days, let us never forget our obligation to stay connected to Him through our active participation at the Sunday Eucharist. It is around His Altar that we are truly refreshed and renewed and we celebrate the only independence that liberates us from a slavery to sin.

PERPETUAL ADORATION
St. Patrick's Parish is so blessed to have Perpetual Adoration.
We are also thankful to the adorers who faithfully commit to their hour. However, there are times when the committed adorer is unable to cover his/her hour. Vacation time is here and we would greatly appreciate anyone who is able to substitute during the summer months. On the bulletin board in the chapel vestibule is a list of adorers looking for a substitute.
If you would like to visit other adoration chapels while on vacation, www.therealpresence.org lists parishes with adoration by state throughout the US, the days and times of adoration and maps. Another helpful website for vacationers is www.masstimes.org.
Through these resources you can connect with Sunday Mass and adoration no matter where your summer plans take you!
Eucharistic Adoration
When Jesus called His apostles from their work to follow Him, He knew they heard Him, not only with their ears, but, within their hearts. They heard Him. They listened to Him. They followed Him. They loved Him.
Extra help is needed the next three months to cover hours when committed adorers are away. Some of the hours where a substitute is needed are:
Sunday 10-11pm (July 11, and July 18th)
Sunday 12 noon to 1pm (July, August, and September)
Sunday 3-4pm (July and August)
Tuesday 8-9am (July 6th)
Hear Him with your heart. Come closer to Him
Are you able to fill in, at least, 1 or 2 times during the summer months?
Are you listening? Will you follow? Will you call?
Carole (508-653-0371)
Also, check the substitute list on the bulletin board.

SEAMLESS GARMENT REFLECTION
Promoting a Consistent Ethic of Life
"The passion of the prophets echoes loudly in Hebrew Scriptures. They are unrelenting in their call to care for the poor, the widow, the orphan. In the Christian Scriptures Jesus' words and witness urge us to a special love of those who are poor and vulnerable ….our salvation depends on it."
