FROM THE PASTOR
There will be a SECOND COLLECTION
taken up at all of the Masses this weekend for the NATIONAL
BLACK AND INDIAN MISSIONS. This annual appeal is used
to fund the various evangelization programs among some of the
neediest people across the United States. Over 131 dioceses in
our country, from the inner cities of the rural south and the
deserts of the southwest to Alaska’s cold wilderness, will benefit
from your generosity. This year, natural disasters have caused
tremendous damage and losses to many churches and there just is
not enough money available to help all those in need. Your generous
financial assistance permits all of us to be co-missionaries with
the priests, deacons, religious and dedicated lay people who minister
to the Black and Native American communities in parishes across
the Unites States, I urge you to give whatever you can and know
that whatever you give will accomplish a great deal.
This Monday evening, July 9th, we will have our
MONTHLY EVENING OF PRAYER as part of our on-going
spiritual renewal of our parish. In union with the Church throughout
the world, we will be celebrating Evening Prayer for the intentions
of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. We will conclude the evening
with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This special time
of grace will begin at 7:30 PM in the Church and I invite all
of you to participate in this wonderful opportunity to rest in
God’s presence. I hope that you will join us as we pray for the
Holy Father and as we grow closer to the Lord and one another.
Our St. Patrick’s Vacation Bible School
begins this week and I want to express my appreciation
to NANCY MAGUIRE and her wonderful team for all
of their hard work in preparing for this wonderful event. The
generosity of all of those involved in this endeavor is a reminder
of what can be accomplished when good people step forward and
offer their extraordinary gifts for the benefit of others. As
we express our gratitude to those involved, let is continue to
keep them in our prayers that this week may be a time of great
grace and enjoyment for all. May they experience a greater awareness
of God’s love and emerge from this week with a renewed enthusiasm
to follow Him to our true paradise of Heaven.
Finally, I want to share with you the belated news
that the REVEREND STEPHEN S. DONOHOE has been
named Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Chelmsford. The people of
St. Mary’s are certainly blessed with their new shepherd. May
his pastoral ministry be filled with joy and many blessings.

Stewardship
“Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals…” Luke
10:4
The story of Jesus sending out the 72 disciples reminds us that,
as Christ’s disciples, we should not be overly concerned with
material possessions. We also are expected to willingly share
what we have with those who bring God’s message to us.
Summertime Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this summer season.
During this time, may we remember the gift of the world you have
given us. For while each summer of our lives is different; it
is their similarities that bring joyful anticipation. For you,
there is no beginning or end, and all things are eternal and at
one time. Yet we, who are bound to time, see and learn all things
through beginnings and endings. As spring ends and summer begins,
may we see your reflection in this and every summer. For though
you are unchanging and eternal, there is always more to discover,
experience and learn.
Amen.
Prayer for Vocations
Loving and merciful God, you call us into being and commission
us to serve your people. We pray that our lives might make a difference
and that our service might give you praise. Strengthen us, we
pray, to be instruments of peace and justice in our church and
in our world. May we desire to ministry as priests, sisters, brothers,
deacons and lay ministers. We ask this in the spirit of Jesus
Christ. Amen.
Evening of Prayer
Monday, July 9, 2007
On the second Monday of each month, the Spiritual
Development Commission of Saint Patrick Parish sponsors an Evening
of Prayer. These prayerful services are open to all and are held
upstairs in the Church. The next monthly Evening of Prayer will
be held this Monday, July 9th at 7:30 PM. We will pray Evening
Prayer and conclude with Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed
Sacrament. Refreshments will be served downstairs following the
service. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Fatima Day
The Xaverian Missionaries will hold their traditional
Fatima Day, on Friday, July 13, at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine.
The main celebrant will be Fr. Paul T. Clifford, Pastor of St.
John the Evangelist Parish in Hopkinton, MA. Gathering and sing-along:
6:30 p.m. Mass begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by rosary and candlelight
procession. The evening will conclude with refreshments served
in the shrine hall.
Monthly Memorial Mass
Each month Saint Patrick Parish celebrates a special Memorial
Mass in memory of those who died the previous month. We remember
in a special way our loved ones whose funerals were celebrated
in our parish as well as those who were buried in Saint Patrick
Cemetery. The next Monthly Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday,
July 18 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Once again we have enough volunteers to spread the Good News of
God’s love!
Please pray daily for the vocation of marriage
Heavenly Father,
Through the intercession of the Holy Family,
Help us treasure the gift of marriage that
reflects the love of Christ for the Church,
where the self-giving love
of husband and wife
unites them more perfectly and
cooperates in your plan for
new life created in your image.
Help us support men and women
in their vocation of marriage,
especially in difficult times when
they join their sufferings to the Cross.
Help us uphold the institution of marriage
in our society as the place where
love is nurtured and family life begins.
Help us acknowledge that our future
depends on this love and on your
providential care for us. Amen
