FROM THE PASTOR

I want to invite all parishioners to our MONTHLY EVENING OF PRAYER this Monday evening, July 14th at 7:30 PM in the Church. This month we will be praying the STATIONS OF THE RESURRECTION, the VIA LUCIS. We will be meditating on the resurrection of Christ and discovering the pathway of light that Christ blazes through our lives. There will be refreshments served in the church Hall after the service.

I am delighted to be able to post some pictures of the REV. STEPHEN G. DONOHOE as he celebrates Mass for our troops in Iraq. I had the opportunity to speak with Fr. Donohoe this week and he is looking forward to coming home in the near future. As I shared with him, getting a firm date for his arrival home is like "trying to nail Jello to the wall!!" Nevertheless, he sounds great and, although he is surrounded by gunfire, he assures me that he is "relatively" safe. Fr. Donohoe is most grateful for all of our prayers and support. Please continue to pray for him and for all of the people who are involved in this conflict. May peace soon be achieved and harmony be restored.

STEWARDSHIP

Today's readings are about being chosen and sent. The prophet Amos was chosen by the Lord and sent to use his talents for the people of God. The Gospel recounts the story of the sending of the twelve disciples; and in the second reading, St. Paul reminds us that we, too, are chosen. For what have I been chosen? To whom have I been sent?

The Saint Patrick Cemetery Commission kindly requests that any Memorial Day decorations currently placed on graves be removed prior to the third week of July. Any items remaining on the graves after that time will be disposed of. Thank you for your cooperation.
