FROM THE PASTOR
This Tuesday, November 1st, is the FEAST OF ALL SAINTS and it is a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION. All Catholics are obligated to participate in the celebration of Mass as we recall those heroic men and women who lived and died for Jesus Christ. Their stories are sources of great inspiration to us as we go about our daily lives and attempt to live out our Baptismal commitment. In order to make it more convenient for us to fulfill this privilege of celebrating the Eucharist, Masses at St. Patrick's will be on Monday, October 31st at 4:00 PM and Tuesday, November 1st at 6:30 and 8:00 AM and 4:00 and 7:30 PM.
The Mass at 7:30 PM on Tuesday evening, November 1st will be dedicated to the PRE-BORN DECEASED AND ALL CHILDREN WHO HAVE DIED and we are extending a special invitation to all parents who have lost a child through death. The death of a child is perhaps the worst experience that a parent can endure and it is often difficult for us to understand how God can permit this to happen. It is our belief that all baptized children are taken up into the glory of God's heavenly kingdom. We further believe that, through His infinite mercy, God brings to Himself all children and that they are numbered among the saints. In spite of our grief, the death of a child is a joyous moment for the child because they achieve immediately the purpose for which they have been created. The Mass on Tuesday evening underscores our belief that these children are already saints. We offer our prayers for their parents in the hope that Christ's promise of Resurrection will ease their sadness and provide some comfort. I hope all parishioners will join us for this special Mass as our presence can be a source of great comfort to parents as well.
I want to invite all parishioners to join us this Saturday, November 5th for our First Annual HARVEST FEST. We are gathering at the Natick Organic Community Farm (Rte. 16, South Natick) from Noon until 2 PM to spend some time enjoying each other's company. I am grateful to new co-chairs of the Parish Activities Commission, TESS ROBERTS. and LISA CORREIA for planning this wonderful event for people of all ages. I look forward to sharing this important time with all of you.
This Sunday, during the 11:30 AM Mass, we will be choosing our new Parish Pastoral Council members. As we have done in the past, we are placing the names of the candidates on the Altar and asking the Holy Spirit to guide us as we prayerfully select those who will serve in this important ministry of service to the Parish. By our prayerful reliance upon God's grace, I am confident that those selected will serve our parish well.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
On November 1, 2005 St. Patrick Parish of Natick will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration (PEA). PEA is when a parish sets aside a small room or chapel that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with permanent exposition of Jesus in The Most Blessed Sacrament. During Adoration we make ourselves present to be loved by God so that we can grow more deeply in the awareness of how and how much He loves us. Then we can love one another as He has loved us.
Since the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is one of a few in Massachusetts and in the USA open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, people from all walks of life; different faiths, families and children; always have the opportunity to seek healing, comfort and solace in times of difficulty or sorrow or in times of joy and thanksgiving.
Everyone is welcome to St. Patrick Eucharistic Adoration Chapel located on Hayes Street next to St. Patrick Church. For more information or if you and your family would like to sign up to be dedicated adorers and spend one hour each week with Jesus, call Anne Reilly 508-655-8516.
