FROM
THE PASTOR
Next Sunday, November 18th, we will be celebrating our annual
MASS OF REMEMBRANCE at 11:30 AM. We have invited
the families of those who were buried from St. Patrick’s Church
during the past year to join us as we pray for those who have
preceded us in death. The death of a loved one always leaves a
void in our hearts and our celebration of Christ’s victory over
death reminds us of the hope to which we have been called. Our
prayerful presence can be a source of great consolation and comfort
to those who mourn the loss of a loved one. I hope that all who
are able will join us around the Altar as we commend our deceased
loved ones to the tender mercy of the Lord. Although we have specifically
invited the families of those who were buried from our parish,
please feel free to invite anyone that you might know who is grieving
a loss and kindly notify the Rectory in order that we might include
the name of the deceased in our prayers. There will be an opportunity
to express your condolence and support to the bereaved families
as we gather in the Church Hall after Mass.
I
want to express my gratitude to MR. RYAN BARBA
for his generosity and enthusiasm as we begin to establish a YOUTH
MINISTRY PROGRAM at St. Patrick’s. Ryan spoke at all
of the Masses last weekend and shared some of the exciting news
of various upcoming events that have already been planned. There
is much to be done and we need both the prayerful as well as active
support of all parishioners as we undertake this new initiative.
We often hear of the need to do more for our young people in order
to help foster a closer relationship with Christ and with each
other. I am delighted that Ryan has accepted this challenge and
I am certain that all of us will derive great blessings from his
tremendous witness of faith. I am equally certain that with the
support and encouragement of the entire parish family this new
ministry will flourish under his leadership. Great things will
happen when one is open to the Holy Spirit.
I
would like to call your attention to a new movie that has just
been released. “BELLA” follows a young girl’s
life for one day and how she deals with an unexpected pregnancy.
From all reports, this movie is both profound as well as entertaining.
I hope many of you will attend the various showings in order to
demonstrate your support for this life-affirming movie. For more
information, please contact the Pro Life Office at 508-651-1900.

Stewardship
“….he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all
are alive.” – Luke 20:38
Jesus makes
it clear that resurrection life will transcend current existence,
and the children of God will imitate the angels in their complete
absorption of Him. Loving God, teach me the ways of the angels
and lead me on the path of the resurrection.
“The Passion of Christ
showed us how Christ died for us;
Bella shows us how to live
for others.”
The
critically acclaimed, life-affirming movie, BELLA, opened in the
Boston area on Friday, November 9th. Cardinal Seán has
unreservedly endorsed this film and hopes that as many people
as possible will attend. Strong support this first weekend is
essential for the movie to succeed. You will not only enjoy a
great film, but also help support a culture of life.

more information, contact the Archdiocesan Pro Life Office at

Annual Mass of Remembrance
The Annual Mass of Remembrance for
our loved ones who died this past year will be held on Sunday,
November 18th, at 11:30. Invitations are being sent to
family members of those who were buried from our parish. If you
know of someone who experienced a loss of a loved one this year
but the funeral was held outside of our parish, please contact
the parish office at 508-653-1093 so that an invitation may be
extended to them as well. Please provide us with the name and
address of the person to whom the invitation should be addressed
as well as the name and relation of the deceased relative. All
are welcome to join us in prayer for this special Mass. Refreshments
will be served downstairs in the church hall following the Mass.
Mass of Remembrance for Pre-Born Children
A Mass of Remembrance for Pre-Born Children who have
been lost to miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion will be held
at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, November 28th
at St. Patrick Church. Rev. Bryan Hehir, Secretary of Social Services
for the Archdiocese of Boston, will offer the homily. Parents,
grandparents and siblings who have suffered the loss of these
little ones are invited to join.
