FROM
THE PASTOR
The SECOND COLLECTION that is being taken up
at all of the Masses this weekend is for the CAMPAIGN
FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. This annual appeal is the Church’s
response to Americans struggling with poverty as they strive to
create a stronger future for themselves, their families, and their
communities. Your response to this special collection will help
low-income persons as they work together to solve community problems,
increase educational opportunities, and to establish jobs. I am
certain that you will be as generous as your means allow so that
together we might be able to find permanent solutions to the problem
of poverty in our midst.
As
we reflect upon how blessed we are both individually and as a
parish, it should be obvious to all that we need to render thanks
to God for all that He has done for us. Our nation’s founders
came to this land and raised a hymn of Thanksgiving to God for
the rich harvest that they had received from His hands. This Thursday,
our nation will observe THANSKGIVING DAY and
I want all of you to join us as we gather to thank God in the
best way possible: the celebration of the Prayer of Jesus Christ
that is the Mass. We will celebrate a Special Mass of
Thanksgiving on Wednesday evening, November 21st at 7:30 PM and
Thursday morning, November 22nd at 8:00 AM in the Church.
There will be a special collection taken up to aid COR UNUM Meal
Center in Lawrence. Let us pray that our love for God and our
appreciation for His goodness may be seen in our pursuit of justice
and peace and in our generous response to those most in need.
I
welcome the families of our parish deceased to the MASS
OF REMEMBRANCE this Sunday at 11:30 AM. We are united
with you in the hope that your deceased loved ones are sharing
in Christ’s victory over death and we offer you our prayerful
sympathies during this difficult time in your life. As we commend
the souls of our departed loved ones to the tender mercy of God,
we pray that the promise of the Resurrection will ease your loss
and bring you comfort and peace. We want to invite all to join
us downstairs in the Church Hall after Mass for an opportunity
to express our personal condolences as well.
I
want to announce the appointment of ED AND SHIRLEY MILCH
as the coordinators of the Adoration Ministry. I am delighted
by their willingness to assume this responsibility and I want
to thank ANNE REILLY for her wonderful service.
We are most grateful to all for their kindness.

Stewardship
“By your perseverance you will secure your lives.” – Luke 21:19
As the signs are presented in our age, we have an opportunity
to empty ourselves of fear and anxiety in order to be filled with
Christ and bear witness to His love and mercy on all the world.
Loving God, empty me of all my fears and anxieties so that I too
may be a witness of your love and mercy in the world.
Rest
in Peace
Let
us pray for those who have died, especially
John
Hesek
May
he and all the faithful departed rest in peace.
Electronic Offertory
In
an effort to make it more convenient for parishioners to financially
support Saint Patrick Parish, we now offer you the ability to
make your offertory contributions electronically. Rather than
placing cash or checks in the collection basket each week, you
now have the option to simply have a predetermined monthly amount
withdrawn from your checking or savings account that will be automatically
deposited into the Parish Offertory. Transactions will be made
on the 15th of each month. If you are interested in signing up
for electronic offertory payments, or if you would like additional
information, please contact Jean Lorrey in the Parish Office at
508-653-1093. Thank you.
Respect Life Ministry
Our annual Jesse Tree begins next
weekend. Please stop by after Mass at the back of the church to
select your gift tag to purchase a gift for a child or adult in
need. Your kindness in providing gifts to members of our community
symbolize the roots of kindness and love that branch from our
hearts and unify us as a family in Christ. Gift tags will be available
the following two weekends. Gifts need to be returned to the back
of the Church no later than December 9th.

Prayer
for Thanksgiving Day
Dear
Lord,
On this Thanksgiving Day, please bring us not only good food and
memories but help us remember that it is You we are thanking.
When we enjoy our meal with our relatives, may we thank You, who
brings all food from the earth. When we enjoy the company of relatives
and friends, may we thank You, the source of all life and happiness.
And when we pray our prayer of blessing, may our hearts be on
You, who is the source of all holiness, joy, and every blessing
that is showered on us.
Amen.

after all the Masses the next two weeks. We are asking that you
