FROM THE PASTOR
There will be a SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION taken up at all of the Masses this weekend for CHRISTMAS FLOWERS. We are decorating the Church in memory of our deceased loved ones and we invite you to make a donation in their memory. In the event that finances are somewhat problematic for you, please feel free to write the name of anyone that you would like remembered on the outside of the envelope and simply place it in the basket. We are happy to remember everyone in our prayers at the Altar during this holy season.
We are holding an ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE on this Monday evening, December 20th at 7:30 PM in the Church. There will be an opportunity for individual confession and we have invited additional priests to be with us to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance. I want to encourage all to participate in this wonderful opportunity to receive the real gift of Christmas, the gift of Christ's forgiveness and peace.
Elsewhere in the bulletin is the schedule for the CHRISTMAS MASSES and I would like to call your attention to the fact that there will not be an afternoon Vigil Mass on Christmas Day (Saturday). The Masses for Sunday, December 26th will be celebrated only on Sunday this year.
In anticipation of larger crowds at our Christmas liturgies, we are looking for people who would be willing to act as GREETERS and to welcome all who join us for these sacred days. If you would be willing to serve in this capacity and to extend a welcome to those who are with us, please contact the Rectory. It is our hope to make everyone feel at home here as we observe the Birth of Our Lord.
I am delighted to share with you the news that the ARCHDIOCESAN OFFICE OF PRO-LIFE ACTIVITIES has accepted our invitation to transfer its operation from Brighton to the Joseph Center beginning in January, 2005. As you know, St. Patrick's Parish has a long history of active involvement in the Pro-Life movement and it seems appropriate that the central office be housed in our midst. We are in need of volunteers to help facilitate in preparing the Joseph Center for this relocation. If you would be willing to help clean, perhaps paint, move furniture, and other sundry things, please call the Rectory. We hope to spend the week after Christmas on this project and any assistance that you can give will be greatly appreciated. The Pro-Life Office will be located on the Second Floor of the Joseph Center next to the Catholic Charities Office.

STEWARDSHIP
When he discovered that Mary was with child, Joseph resolved to end their engagement with as little disgrace as possible. But obedient to the voice of God, he changed those plans and became instead the protector of the child Jesus and His mother Mary. God grant that I may be as open to the leading of the Holy Spirit!
Rest in Peace
Let us pray for those who have died, especially Robert A. Lavoie May they and all the faithful departed rest in peace.
Office Closed
The Parish Office will be closed Thursday, December 23rd, Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st for the Christmas and New Years holidays.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Thank you …
… to each and every one of the volunteers who share the vision and dedication that makes the Religious Education Program run. Our parish is blessed by your generous gifts of time and talent that you share with our children and their families for the glory of God the Father and His Blessed Son Jesus.
Appreciation Notes
· To our 8th grade students for your enthusiasm and joy with the residents of the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home by playing board games and sharing conversation. You touch lives when you reach beyond your comfort level to reach out to others.
· To Ms. Martel and Ms. Lucien's 3rd grade class for their Christmas cards mailed to the retired priests residing at Regina Cleri. Although retired, their years of service dedicated to the parishes of our Archdiocese are appreciated and far from forgotten.
