FROM THE PASTOR

The SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK will be celebrated on this Saturday, February 23rd immediately following the 4:00 PM Mass. We recommend that all parishioners who are about to enter the hospital or are planning to undergo any surgery in the near future avail themselves of this wonderful gift of God’s healing.

On next Saturday, March 1st, we will be having a DAY OF REFLECTION for all those who are involved in any ministry here at St. Patrick’s Parish. I have invited the REV. PAUL B. O’BRIEN, the Pastor of St. Patrick’s in Lawrence, to be the leader for this day. The day is designed to encourage all of us to become renewed and refreshed as we attempt to make a return to the Lord for His goodness to us. This day is open to all who might wish to participate. Please call the Rectory for more details.

Next weekend, March 1-2, we will begin the ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL for the Archdiocese of Boston. As Catholics, we are called to provide for the needs of our neighbors and for the entire Catholic family, especially in union with our Archbishop. One of the many ways in which we can fulfill our responsibilities is through our generous response to this Appeal in order to support the many works of the Church. Our financial response is indicative of our commitment to support all of the good works that benefit the entire community. For many people, life holds much pain and sadness. They live with disappointment, failed dreams, debilitating illness, failures and sins that rob them of their dignity. It is the responsibility of the Church to hand on to them the Light of Christ and that Light happens through us, through our deeds and actions. We bear the responsibility to bring the fragile light of Christ to those who need Christ desperately. The Annual Catholic Appeal is the primary funding source that provides for the critical programs and services that assist the Cardinal as he attempts to bring the Light of Christ to those most in need. In this 200th anniversary year of the Church in Boston, we are asked to make a generous response so that we might build up the Church in order to bring hope and love to thousands of men, women, and children.

Electronic Offertory

In an effort to make it more convenient for parishioners to financially support Saint Patrick Parish, we now offer you the ability to make your offertory contributions electronically. Transactions will be made on the 15th of each month. If you are interested in signing up for electronic offertory payments, or if you would like additional information, please contact Jean Lorrey in the Parish Office at 508-653-1093. Thank you.
