FROM THE PASTOR
The SECOND COLLECTION that is being taken up at all of the masses this weekend is for the CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES. The theme off this annual appeal is Jesus in Disguise which helps us to remember the presence of Christ in every one of our brothers and sisters in need. This collection helps to supports five Catholic organizations that provide emergency relief, legal services for poor immigrants, and promote justice and peace around the world. Your support of this collection puts our faith into action and brings the Light of Christ to those who are in situations of darkness such as poverty, disease, persecution and more. By your generous contribution to this collection you help care for Jesus in Disguise and you touch the lives of people throughout the world. Thank you for your commitment to Christ and for your concern for His holy people.
I want to invite all parishioners to participate in our upcoming PARISH LENTEN MISSION that will be held on March 14-March 16th. This special opportunity of grace is being co-sponsored by the Spiritual Development Committee and the Adoration ministry. The theme of these three nights is "Come to Me" and we will focus our attention on the gift of the Eucharist to our lives, especially during this Year of the Eucharist. We have invited the REV. STEPHEN S. DONOHOE, our former Parochial Vicar and presently a member of the faculty of St. John's Seminary, to be the homilist for our first evening, using the theme, "Rest with Me". The REV. VINCENT E. DAILY, a Spiritual Director at St. John's Seminary will be the homilist for the second night and theme for that evening is "Receive My Forgiveness." The third night, we will conclude with the celebration of Mass which is the Source and Summit of our lives as Catholics. We have set aside these nights in order that we might deepen our appreciation of and our love for the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. I hope that you will join us for these moments of grace.
I am delighted that the Archdiocese of Boston is sponsoring the BOSTON CATHOLIC MEN'S CONFERENCE on Saturday, March 19th at Boston College High School. There will be a bus leaving from St. Patrick's Parish on Saturday morning at 7 AM. I want to encourage all men over the age of 16 years to join us for what promises to be an exciting spiritual experience.
Because this year's feast of St. Patrick falls during the Lenten season, specifically between our parish mission and Holy Week, we have decided to postpone our parish celebration until sometime after Easter. However, we will have a small celebration following the concluding Mass of the mission on Wednesday, March 16th and all are encouraged to join us.

The blind man was willing to let Jesus minister to him and willingly did all Jesus asked of Him. The Pharisees were more resistant to His message, spending their time and energy to disprove the miracle. Which am I more like, the man born blind or the Pharisees?
