STEWARDSHIP

Very early in the morning after the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jesus' body with precious oils. The reward of this good and conscientious steward was to be the first to know that Jesus had been raised from the dead! Alleluia!

For our students as they prepare to receive the sacrament of First Communion.

Book Drive

Children's books, adult books, new books, old books!
Help us fill the library shelves of St Angela's School in Mattapan with your gently (but no longer) used books. Donations may be brought to the Religious Education office in the rectory. Books will be delivered May 2nd to St. Angela's.

Operation Rice Bowl

Please return collected money either to Religious Education catechists or to the drop off basket in the vestibule starting April 3rd. Thank you for your collection efforts!

Vacation Bible School

Plans are already underway for another wild summer adventure… look for registration forms in the mail by the beginning of April (for registered religious education students Kindergarten -5th grade). Come be a part of something ALIVE! Adult and teen volunteers needed, for information contact Nancy Maguire 508-655-1017

Stitchers & Crafters

Help is needed to prepare Banner craft for 2nd grade retreat. Simple "one seam" sewing, fabric shape cut outs, and assembly for our 85 students. Materials may be picked up in the Religious Education Office.

Project Bread
The walk for hunger

Join Project Bread's Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 1. Enjoy a festive day walking through Boston and the surrounding neighborhoods while you help our hungry neighbors in Massachusetts. With the current economic state, your neighbors need your help more than ever. Your pledges will support 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, food banks, and food salvage programs in 132 communities across the state. Celebrate the spirit of giving along with 40,000 other concerned citizens by participating in this fun and exciting Massachusetts tradition. BEGINNING EXPERIENCE

Has your marriage ended by death, divorce or separation? Do you wish to move on with your life, but do not know how? Consider attending a Beginning Experience Weekend to be held at the Marist House in Framingham, MA, from April 29-May 1. The weekend is designed for those beyond the initial stages of grieving who desire to begin again. The deadline for receipt of applications for the April Weekend is April 9th, 2005. The cost includes program, 2 nights lodging, materials, and food. Space is limited.

All Ministry Volunteers

Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Adult Altar Servers are required to complete the Child Abuse Prevention Program. Sessions are also open to any interested parishioners. YOU MUST CALL DEACON CRUMP AT THE RECTORY 508-653-1093 Ext 35 TO REGISTER-NO DROP-INS PLEASE.
Parents:
A special showing of the program will be held for parents to view the Child Abuse Prevention Program and videos, on Sunday, April 10 in Our Lady's Hall during the morning CCD program. Parents who have participated in the program urged us to have this special time for parents.

25th and 50th Wedding Anniversary Mass Celebrated by The Most Reverend Seán P. O'Malley, O.F.M. Archbishop of Boston

Cathedral of the Holy Cross Sunday, April 10, 2005 11:00 am Mass

Archbishop O'Malley invites all couples of the Archdiocese of Boston who are marking their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in 2005 to join him for the annual celebration at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The Golden and Silver Wedding Anniversary Mass will include a renewal of marriage vows by all participating anniversary couples. Family members and friends of the participating couples are encouraged to attend the celebration.

The date for submitting names and addresses to attend this special celebration has been extended until Tuesday, March 29th.
