Solemnity of the trinity

Father, you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit to make us holy. Through them we come to know the mystery of your life. Help us to worship you, one God in three Persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you. We ask you this, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, true and living, for ever and ever.

The feast of the Most Holy Trinity may well be regarded as the Church's Te Deum of gratitude over all the blessings of the Christmas and Easter seasons; for this mystery is a synthesis of Christmas, Epiphany, Easter, Ascension and Pentecost. This feast, which falls on the first Sunday after Pentecost, should make us mindful that actually every Sunday is devoted to the honor of the Most Holy Trinity, that every Sunday is sanctified and consecrated to the triune God. Sunday after Sunday we should recall in a spirit of gratitude the gifts which the Blessed Trinity is bestowing upon us. The Father created and predestined us; on the first day of the week He began the work of creation. The Son redeemed us; Sunday is the "Day of the Lord," the day of His resurrection. The Holy Spirit sanctified us, made us His temple; on Sunday the Holy Spirit descended upon the infant Church. Sunday, therefore, is the day of the Most Holy Trinity.

STEWARDSHIP

The Gospel today is something called "the Gospel in miniature" because it so concisely sums up the Gospel message. In even more condensed form, "God loved…God gave…;" it is the model for stewardship - we give because we love.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

Members of the Adoration Ministry will be available after all the Masses the weekends of 5/29 to meet with and sign up people who are interested in doing a Holy Hour.

We are blessed in this parish to have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration - what a beautiful joy it is, especially during the Year of the Eucharist, to spend one hour a week with the Lord.

Call Anne Reilly 508-655-8516 if you have questions or wish to do an hour.

Van or Pick-up needed

The Sisters of Bethany House are in need of a donated van or pick-up in good condition for their thrift shop. Please call Sr. Ruth or Sr. Kathleen at 508-376-9923. You are invited to visit their thrift shop next to the Millis Post Office open 7 days a week from10 am to 3 pm. Proceeds benefit Bethany House Ministries.

Evening of Prayer

Our next Evening of Prayer will be held on Monday, May 16th, at 7:30 p.m. Please join us as we gather together in faith to pray the Living Rosary for the intentions of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. Each bead of the Rosary is represented by a parishioner, and we honor our Blessed Mother Mary with scripture and song.

We offer this special prayer to our Blessed Mother asking her to intercede for us as we pray for all our priests, for those who are about to be ordained, and for the intentions of our new Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

"We pray that Mary, Queen of the Clergy, will be their model of faith and joy, and constant guide until they reach heaven where a crown, jeweled with the many souls entrusted to them on the day of Ordination, will be their reward for faithful and loving service. Amen."

If you are willing to pray one Hail Mary or Our Father as part of this Living Rosary, we ask that you sign up after Mass this weekend, or contact the Parish Office at 508-653-1093.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend this prayerful evening. Refreshments will be served following the service.
