FROM THE PASTOR

I would like to invite all parishioners to join us on this Monday evening, June 12th, for our MONTHLY EVENING OF PRAYER. This month, we will be praying the LIVING ROSARY and we are offering this for the specific intention of the needs of the Church in Boston. The evening will begin at 7:30 PM in the Church and we will offer our prayers that, through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of the Church, this local community will grow in a deeper awareness of God's love in order to evoke from us a more generous response to His invitation to be disciples. The Living Rosary is a wonderful expression of our collective desire to imitate the example of Mary's faithful and generous service as we attempt to bear witness to her Divine Son. I hope that all who are able will join us for this great moment of grace and then share in some socializing in the Hall afterwards.

I am happy to report that the ST. ANDREW'S COMMITTEE, which is the parish's EVANGELIZTION COMMISSION, has been working very hard over the past few months since its inception last November. After much discussion and investigation of various models, the committee has recently submitted a proposal for a key area of parish life: the preparation and celebration of Baptism. The moment of a child's baptism is a critical moment for the entire Church and this is often a time for parents to strengthen their connection with the parish family. I am grateful to the Committee for their efforts and I look forward to sharing with the parish some of the exciting ideas that have emerged from their labors.

This is the time of year when so many of our young people celebrate the achievement of a major milestone in their lives: the graduation from grammar or high school or college. In fact, last Sunday, June 4th the Class of 2006 was graduated from the Natick High School. Many others have graduated from other institutions of learning and on behalf of the entire parish, I would like to offer our prayerful congratulations to them. We commend their future to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to guide them as they advance along life's pathways. We also would like to extend our best wishes and thanks to all those who have been responsible in helping our graduates to reach this point on their journey, especially their parents and guardians. We are grateful as well to the teachers who have shared their insights and knowledge with our graduates and who now eagerly anticipate the harvest of their labors. May God, Who began this work in our young graduates, bring it to completion in the Kingdom of Heaven, the goal of all true knowledge and wisdom.

Stewardship

"The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ." (Romans 8:16-17)

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, should we not work to build up that kingdom? Should we not be good stewards of our inheritance, using our time, talent and treasure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?

Rest in Peace

Let us pray for those who have died, especially
Rose Bellofatto, Susan M. Carr and Leslie DiFino
May they and all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Prayer for The Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Spirit,
In you is the sum of all knowledge,
All wisdom, and all understanding.
Holy Father, you created me
Sent the son to redeem me,
And sent the Holy Spirit to sanctify me.
Grant, holy Trinity, that as I meditate
On the mystery of your existence,
I will gain insights to the mystery
Of the life you have given me.
Grant that as I strive to master myself
That I will live ever more entirely
In accordance with your own divine
And ever perfect will.
Amen.
