Summer is a time of vacations and travel

For those traveling away from our parish family, we share with you some travel prayers and trust that our Lord will bring us all safely back together after our times of relaxation.

Prayers For Travel

Blessing of an Automobile
V. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who has made heaven and earth.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with your spirit.
Let us pray.

Lend a willing ear, Lord God, to our prayers, and bless this vehicle with Your holy right hand. Direct Your holy angels to accompany it, that they may free those who ride in it from all dangers, and always guard them. And just as by Your deacon Philip You gave faith and grace to the man of Ethiopia as he sat in his chariot reading the Sacred Word, so, point out to Your servants the way of salvation. Grant that, aided by Your grace, and with their hearts set on good works, they may, after all the joys and sorrows of this journey through life, merit to receive eternal joys, through Christ our Lord.
R. Amen.

(And it is sprinkled with holy water.)

Prayer before Starting on a Journey

My holy Angel Guardian, ask the Lord to bless the journey which I undertake, that it may profit the health of my soul and body; that I may reach its end, and that, returning safe and sound, I may find my family in good health. Do thou guard, guide and preserve us. Amen.

Prayer for Travelers

O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP

Does the lure of riches and material goods choke God out of your life? Are you so caught up in worldly activities and anxieties that you have no time for God? These are questions that we all must ask of ourselves if we are going to live as God’s stewards.

Rest in Peace

Let us pray for those who have died, especially
Eileen Rose and Frances J. Balcom
May they and all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Adoration Reflections During the Year of the Eucharist

During this year Eucharistic adoration outside Mass should become a particular commitment for individual parish and religious communities. Let us take the time to kneel before Jesus present in the Eucharist, in order to make reparation by out faith and love for the acts of carelessness and neglect, and even the insults which our Savior must endure in many parts of the world. Let us deepen through adoration our personal and communal contemplation, drawing upon aids to prayer inspired by the word of God and the experience of so many mystics, old and new.
St. Patrick Parish is blessed to have 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration and we celebrate our 10th Anniversary on Nov. 1, 2005.
Is Jesus calling you to spend just one hour a week with Him? Call Anne Reilly (508) 655-8516 to sign up to become a committed Adorer. It is a long lasting gift!

Marian Ministry

The Marian Ministry invites you to join us as we pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, on Monday, July 18th at 7:30 pm in the Lower Church. All are welcome.

Hospice is also seeking Office Volunteers to join our staff as an alternative to direct service with patients.
