FROM THE PASTOR
This weekend, we are observing the 60th ANNIVERSARY OF THE REVEREND JOSEPH A. PAQUET'S ENTRANCE INTO THE SOCIETY OF JESUS. Fr. Paquet has been a wonderful model of a disciple of St. Ignatius of Loyola and we have been enriched by his priestly ministry. "Fr. Tony" has served the Church in Baghdad and Jordan as well as here in Boston. For the past five years, "Fr. Tony" has celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation for our parish every Friday and Saturday and has brought Christ's healing mercy to countless souls. His dedicated services to the parish and his unfailing good humor have endeared him to all of us who are privileged to know him. On this special day, we give thanks to God for the countless blessings that we have received through him and we pray that God will reward him for his labors because we know that we never could.
I am delighted to share with you the great news that another young man from our parish family will be pursuing a vocation to the Priesthood. MR. ERIC BENNETT, who is originally from Rhode Island, has been accepted as a Candidate for Ordination and will enter St. John's Seminary in Brighton in September. Eric has been a daily Mass participant and has demonstrated a tremendous love for the Church and a desire to serve God's people. I am delighted that Eric has chosen to discern his vocation at St. John's and we pray that God will bring this great work that He has begun in Eric to completion. Eric will join a growing number of men from St. Patrick's Parish who are presently pursuing studies in order to be ordained to serve as priests here within the Archdiocese of Boston. Let us pray to the Lord of the Harvest that He will continue to raise up from our community men who will generously respond to His call to serve as priests so that the Eucharist may flourish. I know that there is no greater gift that can be given to a man than to be called to serve the Lord as a priest and I encourage any young man who believes that God is calling Him to the Priesthood to respond generously and enthusiastically. You will not be disappointed.
I want to express my gratitude to all of the people who were involved in the Vacation Bible School last week. The school halls were transformed into a "FIESTA" where our young people were able to grow in their awareness of God's great love for them. The heroic efforts of NANCY MAGUIRE and her crew of committed volunteers resulted in an awesome experience for all of us, young and old. The Bible School remains one of the most popular activities that St. Patrick's offers and we appreciate the hard work and love that goes into making it such a success.

Stewardship
"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?" (John 6:9)
The miracle of the Loaves and Fishes is the only one of Our Lord's miracles which is recorded six times in the Gospel. It carries two important messages. First, no matter how little we have, we always have enough to share. Second, Christ can take our humble gifts and do great things with them if we are just willing to let Him.
Rest in Peace
Let us pray for those who have died, especially
Thomas F. Morris and David B. Sanderson
May they and all the faithful departed rest in peace.
ST.PATRICK'S SUMMER VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL -2006
'FIESTA'…where kids are FIRED up for Jesus!
This past week's V.B.S. was another faith-filled event for over 100 children and over 60 volunteers.
The week offered participants an opportunity to dig into New Testament Scripture in six fun, active and engaging activities each day. All six activities tied in a central daily Bible Message which included:
Scripture Story; Bible Message
Monday: Men bring their friend to Jesus for healing;
Jesus is Our Friend (Luke 17-25)
Tuesday: Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead;
Jesus is Our Life (John 11:1-44)
Wednesday: Jesus chooses his first disciples;
Jesus is Our Leader (Matthew 4:19)
Thursday: Jesus dies and rises to new life;
Jesus is Our Savior (John 19:17-20,29)
Friday: Ananias helps Saul;
Jesus is Our Helper (Acts 9:1-19)
Despite the steamy temperatures, everyone seemed to be 'fired up' to learn more about our awesome God!
Many Thanks to all of the volunteers who spent weeks in preparation of the program and also to those who worked at the program during the week.
My Special Thanks goes to Fr. Kiely for his continued support and enthusiasm for this program; Tricia Fair, who ran the Kindergarten Room; to Sally DeGeorge who trained the Crew Leaders and ran the Games station with co-leader, Carol Arnold; to Rich Salvaggio who once again embraced the week's Bible lessons which most certainly inspired his viewers and to Laney and Matt George who took on the overwhelming task of transforming the Montrose School into a colorful FIESTA!
It was a wonderful week! I pray that you all were as inspired as I was and that you will join us again next year!
God Bless,
Nancy Maguire

Prayer for Vocations
Almighty God, your son Jesus told us to pray for vocations since the harvest is great and the laborers are few. Help all of us who center our Catholic lives in word and sacrament to be active promoters of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. The ministry of identifying and nurturing vocations belongs to each member of each family in our parish families. May we all accept this mission from Jesus with the determination that comes from faith. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Proud to Be Catholic
Come to the annual Proud 2B Catholic Music Festival from 1-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 12 featuring Catholic artists and speakers. The event will take place on the grounds of the Marist House in Framingham and will include live bands with an outdoor stage, Mass celebrated by Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley, confession and adoration. All are invited to attend and experience adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after the final set. For more information and a list of the presenters, visit www.Proud2BCatholic.com/artists.
Safety for All
In an effort to make sure our building is a secure place for all during the celebration of Mass, parents please accompany your children when they need to use the rest room. In this way we will all be assured that our youngsters are safe at all times.
