FROM THE PASTOR
Dare I say, back by popular demand? Once again, I'm taking a stab at this column to give Father Kiely a brief summer rest. I love summer; it's my favorite time of year. I know that it can get too humid on occasion, but overall I like the slowed pace and its recreational activities. This year, I've discovered another wonderful thing about summer, St. Patrick's Summer Bible School!
Last week I witnessed a dedicated, talented and extraordinarily creative group of teenagers, young adults, parents and volunteers put on a program that familiarized our children with several Bible stories. The only thing more inspiring than their effort was the reaction of the children. They had fun, prayed, sang and learned much that will serve them as they grow in faith.
Parents today are forced to be increasingly vigilant about the information kids can access on television or via the internet. We can all find distressing news if we search the papers or watch TV news. But this past week, right here in Natick, something wonderful took place. We should all be proud of our parish.
May God bless all who helped make the program the success that it was. Let us also pray for the children, the reason for the program. May they grow in their knowledge and love of our Risen Lord.

Third Order of Saint Dominic
The Third Order of Saint Dominic meets here at St. Patrick Church on the third Sunday of each month, starting in September. We meet in the lower church hall at 1:30 PM.
The Third Order of Saint Dominic is a group of lay people and diocesan clergy bearing witness to the truth of Christ's message of salvation in the world. Dominicans profess to a life of prayer and study.
Membership in the Third Order of Saint Dominic is not like joining a parish sodality or social service organization, or even a prayer group; it is a vocation to live the Catholic life of faith with all the fervor and intensity that one can, along the spiritual ways of St. Dominic.
What is the Dominican life? Devotion to the Word of God in the Scriptures, to the Magisterial teachings of the Church, and to the Eucharist.
Come to our meeting on September 18th and see if you would like to join us. For further information call Peg Branagan 508-655-2347 or Patricia Keeney 508-820-4786.
