Summer is a time of vacations and travel
For those traveling away from our parish family, we share with you some travel prayers and trust that our Lord will bring us all safely back together after our times of relaxation.
Prayers For Travel
Blessing of an Automobile
V. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who has made heaven and earth.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with your spirit.
Let us pray.
Lend a willing ear, Lord God, to our prayers, and bless this vehicle with Your holy right hand. Direct Your holy angels to accompany it, that they may free those who ride in it from all dangers, and always guard them. And just as by Your deacon Philip You gave faith and grace to the man of Ethiopia as he sat in his chariot reading the Sacred Word, so, point out to Your servants the way of salvation. Grant that, aided by Your grace, and with their hearts set on good works, they may, after all the joys and sorrows of this journey through life, merit to receive eternal joys, through Christ our Lord.
R. Amen.
(And it is sprinkled with holy water.)
Prayer before Starting on a Journey
My holy Angel Guardian, ask the Lord to bless the journey which I undertake, that it may profit the health of my soul and body; that I may reach its end, and that, returning safe and sound, I may find my family in good health. Do thou guard, guide and preserve us. Amen.
Prayer for Travelers
O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Stewardship
"As the Lord spoke to me, the spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and I heard the one who was speaking say to me, 'Son of man, I am sending you…'" (Ezekiel 2:2-3)
God sends each of us to do some special work for Him. And, He gives us all the talents that we need to do that work. However, do we listen to God when He calls? Do we get up on our feet and give our time to do the work God asks of us? This is the basis for good stewardship.
Rest in Peace
Let us pray for those who have died, especially
Wilhelmina Riley and Patricia Prell
May they and all the faithful departed rest in peace.

IN APPRECIATION
Dear Friends of Pregnancy Help,
It is with great gratitude that we received the beautiful baby items and $105 that you and the people of your parish donated for our clients from your parish baby shower. Your help enables us to continue in our mission to serve women and families, helping them make life affirming choices.
During 2005, thanks to your help and that of others, we served 320 women, out of both our Natick and Brighton offices. Your generosity is a gift to so many! You are truly cooperating with the Church as she strives to build a Culture of Life.
I remember here, the words of Our Lord in the Gospel of Matthew (25:40), "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
May Christ fill your lives with prayer, peace, joy, and holiness.

Prayer for Vocations
O God Almighty, we thank you for calling each of us into deeper life through Jesus. We thank you for the love we are called to bear one another and for the power you give us to love with your Spirit of love. Teach us to respect the many ways your Spirit is manifested and the many gifts needed to bring Christ's life in us to its fullness. Never let us forget that the greatest among us is the one who serves with joy and humility, using your gifts for the common good. We ask this in the name of your son through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for Summer
Heavenly Father,
We ask your blessings on our nation.
Give our leaders wisdom,
So that they will make decisions that respect all people.
Give our voters knowledge and discernment,
so that they will choose wisely those who will govern them.
Give our judges a thirst for truth,
so that they may justly interpret the laws before them.
Give our legislators insight,
so that they form laws based upon what is right.
Above all, Lord,
give me the grace to be a good Christian,
so that as I exercise my rights
I may be attentive to the common good
and build up a society founded on justice and peace.
Amen.

A REMINDER
In keeping with the Archdiocesan policy for conducting background checks for all clergy, staff, and volunteers, it is mandatory that all volunteers in ministry in the parish complete a CORI form and submit it to the Parish Office.
This year additional information is required on the form, and the Archdiocese requires that the form be returned in person so that identification may be verified by the CORI Administrator.
Kathleen Kelly is the CORI Administrator for Saint Patrick Parish, and she works evenings in the Parish Office, Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
If you have not already done so, please contact Kathleen at 508-653-1093 to make arrangements to complete the CORI process. Your assistance and cooperation in this matter are most appreciated.
Safety for All
In an effort to make sure our building is a secure place for all during the celebration of Mass, parents please accompany your children when they need to use the rest room. In this way we will all be assured that our youngsters are safe at all times.
